TO ACACIA

acacia Chooses A New Home!
Acacia, the popular Carytown restaurant
founded by Food & Wine’s Best New Chef of 1999, is moving
a few blocks east to a new location at 2601 West Cary Street.
“We are excited to announce our new home,”
Chef Dale Reitzer says. He and his wife Aline closed their
original location on December 31, as they sought a new site
for their much-lauded restaurant. After considering several
options, they decided on the West Cary Street spot, adjacent
to the soon-to-be-developed GRTC.. “We aren’t moving far,”
Reitzer notes, “but we are looking forward to being a part
of this up-and-coming area of town.” After nearly 10 years
in a converted church shared by several businesses, the recently
purchased building offers new possibilities. “The space has
never been home to a restaurant before, so we truly get to
make it our own,” he adds. “We are energized by its potential.”
For the many Richmonders who have missed Acacia’s fresh, eclectic
menu, the wait is nearly over.
“We are working hard to get the new Acacia
open soon,” Reitzer promises.
Sincerely,
Aline & Dale Reitzer
